Centers for Disease Control (CDC) mentions that pregnant women who are exposed to the secondhand smoke have higher risk to give birth with low birth weight baby. The risk is up to 20%. It means that there will be so many consequences for the development of the baby.
Another effect is that the secondhand smoke pregnant mothers have greater risk of delivering the baby who has died in the uteri. And, although the baby is safely born, he/she has greater risk of experiencing sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Or, he/she has bad lung function. This will be so problematic for the baby who was born prematurely.

The bedroom windows slide open left to right in lieu of up and down. 46"H x 52" W in two bedrooms. Width is master bedroom is 65". Would like to use vertical blinds but concerned short blinds may look goofy. Open to any ideas.-

Roman shades might give a different look. My parents used to have a short triple window. They just used regular curtains. I have used vertical blinds on a sliding window. I had them done in an accent color rather than a neutral color. It does have a more contemporary feel.

72in blinds... but 71in window..?
I went to Home Depot today to buy horizontal window blinds to replace the vertical ones I currently have. I measured the window and it was 71 inches wide, so I bought 72 inch blinds hoping they would be a little shorter, but they were not. I looked on HomeDepot.com and they do not have any 71in blinds, the next size down is 66in. Could I put up two 35 inches?

they will cut the width at home depot. Just take them back and tell them the width of window. they will know what to cut off
